  5. I am resourceful by "up-cycling" my daughter's clothes to last for more than one season. Last year's pants that are too short become this year's capris. Last years dresses that are not too short I add fabric to the bottom and re-create it to be suitable for this year :).

  18. Besides recycling EVERYTHING, in the summer time, my kids and I go for walks or bike rides and pick up aluminum cans to recycle. We also save all of our toilet paper and paper towel rolls to use for toys or crafts. I also keep jars and plastic containers to store leftovers or to use for crafts or organizing. We always save water bottles and use them to keep water in the fridge so it is readily available to us all at anytime. By doing this, we drink more water because it is already cold. I also keep tissue paper and bags from other presents. My kids also keep all paper with a blank side for coloring. Helps save our notebooks for more important matters.

  19. I have 2 boxes in my kitchen where I recycle plastic and aluminum. I save the tabs from the soda cans because the Boys and Girls Club that my daughter attends afterschool recently did a contest to see which grade could bring in the most tabs for our local Ronald McDonald House and the grade that bought in the most won a party.

  27. I do most of what previous comments said- growing up in another country where recycling, reusing, repurposing, conserving, growing your own, making childrens clothes out of my old, knitting, sewing, etc. were part of survival not because it was fashionably popular- made me who I am today. I also use mostly baking soda and vinegar to clean my house - saves lots of $$ and eco-friendly; use herbs as an alternative to store bought medicine

  28. To save on our energy bill, everything is unplugged from our outlets and only plugged in when we use the appliance, lamp, etc.. then unplugged after using it. This saves on our energy bill.
