WE COOK - FRIDAY FUN NIGHT!

Tonight is Friday Fun Night in my house!

We are making one of our favorite family fun meals, Homemade Pizza!

I love doing this because it brings my family together!
My kids are trying to toss pizza dough like professionals....while my husband makes a mess trying to show them how it is really done....my daughter eating all the topping before they even get to her pizza & our puppy eating up all the goodies that she drops (such a good hoover)

Yep, this is a normal family night in my house.....it may sound like chaos but to me it's organized chaos and I LOVE IT!

Here is my favorite homemade pizza recipe I have shared with you all before

HOMEMADE PIZZA
(sorry, my kids got to the pizza before I could take a picture)!

This pizza that we made is Canadian Bacon, Pineapple and Shrimp.
Yes, Shrimp....I know it doesn't sound that great.
But trust me it is delicious!

I have 3 different pizza crust that I like to use:
  • Winco's Pizza dough
    • Sold by the cheese for $1-$2, one package is enough to make 3 large pizzas!
    • Dough is already made all you have to do is let it rest & form pizzas.
  • Jiffy Pizza dough mix
    • Sold at almost every store, Get it at Walmart for $.46 a box!
    • Again super easy, just mix hot water to mix let set for 5 minutes and get to kneading
  • Homemade Pizza dough
    • Very easy to make just takes a little more time
    • This is the recipe that I like to use, very fast and delicious!
    • Recipe will make 1 large pizza or 4 personal size
Homemade Pizza dough recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.  In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour, salt and oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.

  1. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and start kneading flour into the dough until dough is not sticky.
  2. Once dough is pliable, roll into a nice round ball.

3.  Flatten dough to a nice round pizza crust of desired size.  Or if you would like to make personal size pizzas cut dough into 4 equal parts.

4.  Kids love this part!  Let each kid form their own size pizza.  Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or a pan covered with foil (easy clean up)!

5.  Pre-cook crust for 3-4 minutes.  Take out of oven and let the fun begin!

6.  Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

LET COOL AND ENJOY!!

Get creative and come up with some more yummy combinations!!

STOCKPILE COOKING - PIGS-IN-PILGRIM-HATS

Pigs-in-Pilgrim-Hats - Image Collection

HOW CUTE ARE THESE?!
I FOUND THIS RECIPE IN THE NOVEMBER ISSUE OF FAMILY FUN MAGAZINE

I LOVE THE THANKSGIVING DAY TWIST ON
THE PIG IN A BLANKET!!

Ingredients
  • 2 to 3 hot dogs
  • tube of crescent roll dough
  • bologna (hand-sliced from the deli counter, for a larger diameter than prepackaged)
  • sliced yellow American or Cheddar cheese
  • flour
nullInstructions
  1. Heat the oven to 350°. Cut hot dogs into eight 1-inch segments. Separate the dough along its perforations. On a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper, stand the hot dog segments on end, spaced well apart.
  2. Drape a triangle of dough over a segment. Dip a glass in flour, then use it to cut out a circle centered on the hot dog, as shown. With floured hands, press the dough around the segment to form a hat shape. Repeat to make the remaining hats. Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, cut eight thin strips of bologna and eight small squares of cheese. Arrange them on the cooled hats as shown (if the ends of the hatband don't meet, use the buckles to cover the gap).

FOOTPRINT GHOST

I originally saw this idea at Free Kids Crafts
They did these cute little ghost on a shirt.

This is such a fun way to preserve your little ones as they continue to grow!

These Footprint Ghost are super easy to make, the kiddos love squishing their toes in the paint!

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • White & Black Acrylic Paint (you will want fabric paint if you want to do a T-shirt)
  • Black Construction Paper (any color will do)
  • Your kiddo's happy feet

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • set up near a sink so it is easy to clean off their painted feet when finished.
  • Put enough white paint on a paper plate that your kids can coat the bottom of their feet.
  • Gently press their painted feet onto the surface you wish to paint.
  • Let the white paint fully dry
  • Once the white paint is dry, let your kids make a ghost face on the heal of their foot print

Preserve for years to come!
I plan to buy a cheap black frame so I can bring out her cute ghost feet every Halloween.
