STOCKPILE COOKING: HOMEMADE CROCKPOT APPLESAUCE

Homemade Applesauce is so simple to make and with apples being at
their peak season; now is the time to be making it!!
Once you have gone crazy with your applesauce making, if you have any leftover from
what your family will devour....You can Can It or Freeze It to preserve for
baking or just enjoying throughout the year!

My favorite part about making applesauce...Your house smells amazing!

 INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 Apples of choice
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar
    • (you need to have an acid to help the applesauce preserve)
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  • I used a variety of apples that I had on hand
    • Red delicious, Honey Crisp, Granny Smith & Fuji
  • Peel, core and chop the apple and place in a crockpot.
  • Add lemon juice or white vinegar, cinnamon and brown sugar
    • If you don't want to make cinnamon sugar applesauce just place the apples and lemon juice or white vinegar to the crockpot.
  • Cook on low for 6-7 hours. The apples will start to break down as they cook.
  • Once fully cooked, puree to desired consistency

ENJOY!!
