WE COOK - APPLE CARTWHEELS

Apple Cartwheels Recipe

You are not going to find apples any sweeter than right now.
The winter is the best time for fresh crisp apples

With apples being one of my families favorite recipes I thought you would enjoy
this fun apple treat.  It is super easy and of course so yummy!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 4 medium unpeeled Red Delicious apples, cored

The original recipe from Taste of Homes has you core the apple and stuff
with the filling; then slice into rings.

I don't have an apple corer and I found it to be messing trying to cut the apple into rings
after it had been filled.  So I do it a bit different.
Here are the directions from Taste of Home & from me.

Directions - from Taste of Home

  • In a small bowl, combine peanut butter and honey; fold in chocolate chips and raisins.
  • Fill centers of apples with peanut butter mixture; refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut into 1/4-in. rings. Yield: about 2 dozen.

Directions - from Me

  • In a small bowl, combine peanut butter and honey; fold in chocolate chips and raisins.
  • Cut apple into 1/4-in. rings.  With a knife or other sharp item cut the core out of each ring.
  • Using a spatula fill each apple ring with the mixture and enjoy
    Yield: about 2 dozen.
