MeridianRock of Honor dedication
When: 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park
What: The Rock of Honor Memorial will honor the fallen veterans of Meridian. Every man or woman who has been killed while fighting our country since Idaho state hood will be recognized on the memorial. The dedication will include speakers from the VFW, City of Meridian, and Kleiner Park Trust. There will be a special performance from the Meridian Firefighters Pipes and Drums and a flyover from the 190th Fighter Squadron.
Boise
Boise State University veterans ceremony
When: 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Bronco Stadium south end zone
What: BSU will honor the sacrifice of our servicemen and women with a special ceremony. They will read the names of those Idahoans who have died in the service of our country in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade. Featured speakers include BSU President Bob Kustra and Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office Jim Vance. Boise State has one of the highest ratios of former or active soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines in the nation.
"Defending Liberty and Freedom" veterans program
When: 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Idaho State Veterans Home, 320 Collins Road, Boise
What: An Eleven-Bell Ceremony will kick off the program, followed by speeches from Brigadier General William Bankhead, with the Army National Guard, Colonel Bruce Smith, 366th Fighter Wing Vice Commander at Mountain Home Air Force Base, and Nampa Mayor Tom Dale. Governor Otter's Veterans Day proclamation will also be read. This year's theme is "Defending Liberty & Freedom" and the program will honor all veterans, past, present and future. Due to construction, visitors are asked to enter the property via the Robbins Street entrance. Parking is available at Fort Boise Park.
Nampa
Veterans Day pancake breakfast
When: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13
Where: Warhawk Air Museum, 201 Municipal Drive
What: In honor of our veterans, the Warhawk Air Museum will host its 10th annual pancake breakfast.
There is a cost for this event. $6 for adults, $3 for veterans, seniors, and children 12 and under.
Veterans Assembly
When: 9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Sage Valley Middle School gymnasium, 18070 Santa Ana Avenue, Nampa
What: To honor our vets, there will be singing, speakers, and an audio/visual presentation for the entire student body. Veterans are invited to attend.
Veterans memorial dedication
When: Assembly begins at 9:20 a.m., dedication begins at 9:55 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Nampa High School, 203 Lake Lowell Avenue, Nampa
What: A new Veterans Memorial will be unveiled as part of Nampa High School's Veterans Day Appreciation Program. The memorial will include new flag poles and three concrete structures featuring the seals of each military branch.

Two day celebration
When: Two day celebration begins at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: ISU Campus
What: Groundbreaking ceremony for the Veterans Sanctuary on the ISU Campus. A no-host cocktail reception will take place for veteran honorees, dignitaries, and invited guests at the Stephens Performing Arts Center later that evening.

10th Annual Veterans Day Free Oil Change
When: 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11

What: Free oil changes will be given by appointment to veterans. Call the numbers above to book your oil change.
Applebees free entree -
When: Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Your neighborhood Applebees
What: Applebees would like to thank our vets by offering them a free meal on Friday. They encourage veterans to gather together and share stories, make new friends and connections. Guests will need to show proof of service, which includes U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation. Offer is available to dine-in only and patrons will have a choice between seven signature entrees.
Texas Roadhouse 'Early Dine' entree
When: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Texas Roadhouse, 3801 East Fairview, Meridian
What: All veterans are welcome to choose one of ten entrees during lunchtime. It is the Texas Roadhouse way of honoring service men and women for their sacrifices.
Metro Express Free Car Wash
When: Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Metro Express Car Wash in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa
What: Free car wash as part of the Grace For Vets program. No documentation required, customers will just need to tell the attendant they are a veteran or active-duty military member to take advantage of the offer. Car washes are available during business hours.
Free military uniform cleaning
When: Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Clothesline Cleaners in Boise and Meridian
What: To thank vets for their service, Clothesline Cleaners will clean one military uniform for each veteran free of charge, if brought in on Nov. 11. Active members of the military can bring in a current uniform or veterans can bring in an old uniform to be spruced up. Civilians are welcome to bring in their heirloom uniforms.
"Free Pets for Vets" to honor Military Veterans
When: Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12
Where: Canyon County Animal Shelter
What: The Canyon County Animal Shelter will be offering free dog and cat adoptions to all veterans and family of active duty military personnel.
Free entrance to Yellowstone National Park
When: Friday, Nov. 11
Where: Yellowstone National Park
What: The north and northeast entrances to Yellowstone will offer free visitor admission to honor all past and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
